Frequently Asked Questions

If your question is not answered here please call or message our office.

No. You can book an appointment without a referral. However, if you would like to claim a Medicare rebate, you will need a valid Mental Health Care Plan and referral from your GP.
Your first appointment is an opportunity to discuss what has brought you to therapy, your current concerns and your goals. Together, you and your psychologist will develop a treatment plan that best supports your individual needs.
Standard psychology appointments are approximately 50 minutes.
The number of sessions varies from person to person and depends on your individual needs and goals. Some people benefit from a small number of sessions focused on a specific concern, while others find ongoing therapy helpful. Your progress and treatment goals will be reviewed regularly with your psychologist.
Yes. Research has shown that Telehealth can be as effective as face-to-face therapy for many mental health concerns.
Yes. You can attend your appointment from anywhere in Australia, provided you have a reliable internet connection and can participate from a private, quiet location.
You will need a mobile phone, tablet or computer with a camera and microphone, along with a reliable internet connection.
If you have a valid Mental Health Care Plan and referral from your GP, you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate. The full consultation fee is payable on the day of your appointment. If you are eligible, your Medicare rebate can be processed after payment and deposited into the bank account you have registered with Medicare. See our Fees & Rebates page for the current schedule.
Yes. You may be able to claim through your private health insurer, depending on your level of cover. Please contact your health fund to confirm your eligibility and rebate amount. Please note that Medicare and private health insurance cannot both be claimed for the same appointment.
Yes. Your privacy is important to us. Information discussed during therapy is confidential, except where disclosure is required or authorised by law, such as where there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or another person, or where records are subpoenaed by a court.
Our psychologists support children, adolescents and adults experiencing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, burnout, life transitions and challenges with emotional wellbeing. Each psychologist has different areas of interest, training and experience, and not every clinician works with every age group or concern. We encourage you to review our psychologist profiles to find a clinician whose experience and approach best suits your or your child's needs.
Our psychologists use a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, depending on their training and the needs of each client. These may include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, mindfulness-based approaches and other evidence-based interventions. Your psychologist will work collaboratively with you to develop an individualised treatment plan that aligns with your goals and preferences.
Please provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice, or appointments not attended without notice, will incur a $100 cancellation fee.
